Jensin Okunishi is an American born designer creating dialogue between color, emotion and memory. Her love of color and texture lead her to the Rhode Island School of Design, where she graduated with a BFA in Textile Design.
Founded in Japan, Jensin Okunishi Studio is a contemporary rug studio formed by Jensin Okunishi. The studio celebrates colorful contemporary design and quality craftsmanship that offers an escape from daily routine or the ordinary. The Japanese Datsuzoku, describes the feeling of surprise or a bit of amazement when one realizes they can have freedom from the conventional. Jensin Okunishi Studio would like to give this small delight to you.
Each rug is made to order from Himalayan wool. Rugs are designed in Japan and entirely handmade in Nepal by our trusted artisans. The wellbeing of our artisans and their communities is important to us.
